He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.”

Thanks Dr. Alice for your committment to the Lord in the challenging and sometimes persecutory environment of medicine. I am a PA in infectious disease and work with both Christian and agnostic docs. It is a respite to have open believers among your number at work.
When I was a student, I rotated with a loosely Catholic, retired flight surgeon–I can’t recall anything he didn’t do surgically except neuro and ortho. When he confronted patients that were desperate or anxious he would simply ask ‘do you believe in God?’ and then tell them to ask for strength to get through their situation! It always struck me as so shocking since bringing the Lord into the situation is frowned upon. I am thankful that you have the boldness to speak of spiritual matters with your patients–it is truly your ministry. May the Lord continue to strengthen you and encourage you throughout your residency.

Thanks for being committed and not being afraid to share. I’m also trying to balance my faith with the medical profession, and find that I am more and more encouraged by those who are already out there and paving the way for me!
Nursing school is tough, but I’m glad I’ve got Jesus to rely on. I don’t know how I’d make it through otherwise. Well, reading these blogs might help me a little

Thank you for this scripture. It’s true! God gives us exactly what we need if we seek Him and try to learn from Him and allow His love into our hearts.
