Aaah! I hate the internet. I had just written a long essay about surgery attendings, and the computer ate it. I guess that saves me from wondering about the discretion of my comments.

All I can say is, it’s quite a change from the soft hours of ER and burn surgery back to 4am starts, but I’m just thrilled to be here. I walk around the hospital smiling to myself, which makes people think I must be crazy: a surgery intern smiling?

I could start worrying about the ABSITE (American Board of Surgery In-Training Exam), which is at the end of January. It’s a yearly test for surgical residents, and supposed to be very hard. And of course I haven’t been studying properly.
